About Me

Founder, Frontline Readiness Training Group. Trained by those who answer the call— that’s not just our tagline. It’s who I am.

Joe, founder of Frontline Readiness Training Group

Founder

Joe

My name is Joe, and I’ve spent my career showing up for the moments most people hope they never have to face.

I currently serve as an active-duty patrol officer in Pierce County, Washington, where I respond to calls that range from routine to critical—often with only seconds to assess a situation and act. Before that, I served as a U.S. Army infantryman and combat cameraman, including a deployment to Afghanistan, and I’ve spent time in the fire service as well.

Three different uniforms, three different kinds of emergencies—but the same core lesson every time: preparation is what separates chaos from control.

Why FRTG

Closing the gap between knowing a threat exists and having a real plan

I started Frontline Readiness Training Group because I kept seeing the same gap, over and over, in schools, clinics, churches, and businesses across Pierce County. People know a threat is possible. Most don’t have a real plan for it—and the plans that do exist are often generic, untested, or built by someone who’s never actually had to use one.

That’s the gap I wanted to close.

At FRTG, I bring the same mindset I use on patrol into every training session: practical, direct, and grounded in what actually works under pressure—not just what looks good in a slide deck. Whether I’m helping a school design a trauma-informed lockdown drill, training a clinic’s front-desk staff to recognize and de-escalate a volatile situation, or helping a church build its first volunteer safety team, the goal is the same. I want the people in that room to walk out with a real plan, not just a binder they’ll never open again.

I’m also involved in mentoring young people who are exploring careers in law enforcement, and I’m currently pursuing additional specialized training and assignments within my department. Readiness isn’t just what I teach—it’s what I keep training toward myself.

Credentials in practice

U.S. Army infantry & combat cameraman Including a deployment to Afghanistan—discipline, threat mindset, and operating under pressure.
Fire service experience Emergency response perspective that strengthens trauma care and multi-agency coordination themes.
Mentor & lifelong trainee Mentoring future law enforcement careers while pursuing specialized training and assignments in my own department.

Local by design

I live in Puyallup. Pierce County is home.

Pierce County is where I’ve built my career and where I’m building this business. When you work with FRTG, you’re not hiring a national franchise or a call center—you’re working directly with someone who lives here, serves here, and has a personal stake in the safety of the organizations I train.

We also support organizations across King and Thurston Counties with the same practitioner-led approach.

Trained by those who answer the call.

That’s not just our tagline. It’s who I am—and the standard I hold every training session to: practical, direct, and grounded in what works under pressure.

Real experience. Real readiness.

What sets FRTG apart

Different by design

Not a franchise flyer

You work directly with the founder—someone who still answers the call—not a brand that disappears after the seminar.

Plans you can use

Training is built for real buildings and real people: trauma-informed drills, de-escalation for the front desk, safety teams that fit the congregation.

Local stake

Based in Puyallup and rooted in Pierce County—with a personal stake in the safety of the communities I train.
